Muchos contribuyentes tienen dudas en como y cuando registrar el comprobante de Retención, recibido o entregado por concepto de retención de I.V.A., de acuerdo con criterio emanado de la Gerencia General del SENIAT, producto de la consulta Nº 39817, en el cual se hace un análisis de los artículos 1 y 18 de la Providencia Administrativa Nº SNAT /2005/0056, publicada en G.O. Nº 38136, de fecha 28-02-2005; estableció que en el caso del emisor (agente de retención) del comprobante debe registrarlo cronológicamente a la fecha de emisión en el libro de compras, por el contrario el receptor o el que recibe dicho comprobante (proveedor) que esta expuesto al desfase en la fecha de entrega por parte del agente de retención y no siendo imputable a él este hecho,
podrá registrarlo en el libro de ventas en el mes de su recibimiento; en consecuencia deberá registrar cronológicamente en el libro de ventas los comprobantes de retención recibidos oportunamente en el lapso de los 3 días continuos del periodo siguiente, cuando fue objeto de retención, es decir, los comprobantes correspondientes al mes que se reciben, y los correspondan a los recibidos extemporáneamente, o sea fuera del lapso ya mencionado, (periodos posteriores); los registrará en el libro de ventas por orden de fecha de emisión bien sea al inicio o al final del libro de ventas, correspondiente a ese periodo respectivo.
